Articles and Seminars

Tom Schild frequently writes articles and presents educational programs concerning legal issues affecting community associations. Additionally, he has been consulted by various newspapers and broadcast stations for his expertise on condominium and homeowners association legal issues.

Mr. Schild is a member of the National Faculty of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). He regularly teaches a course concerning Community Governance as part of CAI's Professional Manager Development Program for community managers. Most recently, he taught this course in Baltimore, Maryland; Cincinnati, Ohio; Charleston, South Carolina; Washington, D.C.;  and Naples, Florida. In  2007, Tom Schild will be teaching the Community Governance course in Tampa, Florida and Alexandria, Virginia.

In April 2005, Tom Schild taught the CAI course on The Manager and The Law in  Naples, Florida.

He also teaches CAI's course for homeowner boards of directors: The Essentials of Community Association Volunteer Leadership. Most recently, he taught his course in April, 2006 in Germantown, Maryland.  He also taught CAI  programs on Conflict Resolution and Developer to Homeowner Transition.

Mr. Schild is also a frequent speaker at programs sponsored by Lorman Education Services on legal aspects of condominium and homeowners association development and management in Maryland.   In February, 2006, he taught a portion of a program in Gaithersburg, Maryland  on establishing and  operating condominium and homeowners associations.   He presented a program on problem solving for condominium and homeowners associations  in April,  2006.
