We also represent associations in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore City. We also represent community associations in court litigation and administrative hearings. Thomas Schild Law Group's litigation experience includes covenant enforcement, assessment collection, construction and warranty disputes, fair housing, and other general litigation. The firm also represents associations before the Montgomery County, Maryland Commission on Common Ownership Communities in disputes regarding architectural control, use restrictions, election procedures and other association matters. Thomas Schild Law Group takes a "preventative law" approach to representing community associations. We believe that association interests are better served by advance planning and consultation with legal counsel than by waiting for a problem to end up in litigation. With regard to collection of assessments, we believe that associations should pursue a vigorous enforcement policy. The firms paralegals and attorneys work closely with management and association representatives to ensure an efficient and coordinated effort to collect delinquent assessments. The firm is a member of the Community Associations Institute which consists of community association professionals and homeowners. The firm is also a member of the National Association of Housing Cooperatives.
